BPW Caravan running gear is more than what meets the eye. All the components are designed and developed to work in harmony together in order to achieve long term performance and economy. It's good to know that BPW always have the ideal solution. From chassis to tow hitch we keep the focus on our customers and their specific needs.
The Vario concept offers maximum variability and flexible floor plan layout in accordance with your requirements, with no extra weight involved. To permit greater individuality for your equipment and a high payload, BPW develops chassis using the latest computer simulation programs. Optimum lightweight construction and strength are achieved by examining every single point on the vehicle frame and determining the dimensions precisely. The rubber-spring semi-trailing-arm axle (Vtec axle) means that the Vario 4 chassis guarantees outstanding driving properties with maximum safety. This dynamic turning effect guarantees that the caravan remains stable in dangerous situations and on tight bends.
Lightweight Construction of BPW Running Gear
BPW is continuously working to develop its running gear further. One particularly important aspect is to reduce the overall weight. Less inherent weight means a heavier payload and lower fuel consumption. It goes without saying that our strategy here involves the use of high-strength steels.
Our chassis is designed for single-axle and tandem caravans. These chassis are optimised in terms of weight, ease of assembly and cost, and are used for high production volumes with low variance. BPW running gear equipped with the BPW safety hitch is fully hot-dip galvanised, thus offering optimum surface protection. Classic running gear from BPW therefore combines many safety and weight-relevant advantages in one chassis, which can be “built on” with confidence.
